Fake Android App Targets Wing Lung Bank Customers

Wing Lung Bank and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) have issued warnings concerning a fraudulent Android banking App available from http://m.mobogenie.com/download-wing-lung-bank-4758184.html The Mobogenie website boasts, "GET APPS YOU'LL NEVER FIND IN GOOGLE PLAY", which highlights the dangers of downloading from untrusted sources.

Victims should call the Bank’s Customer Services Hotline (852) 230 95555 for the suspension of Wing Lung NET Banking Services and Wing Lung Mobile Banking Services and contact the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012.

Wing Lung Bank advises Customers to search “Wing Lung Bank” at App Store or Google Play or go to Wing Lung Bank’s website (www.winglungbank.com) to download the Bank’s official “WLB Wintech mobile application”.
